Meagan is inspired by the imagery found on Bainbridge Island and across Washington State. With camera in hand, she captures every day scenes faded by time. Paying great attention to detail in the painting process she creates insipid images that are often overlooked, passed by or forgotten. Acrylics are her favored medium to portray these quaint vignettes rich in feeling and texture. Painting in her style of realism she starts with a black canvas which allows her to achieve the depth and intimacy she strives for. Meagan's goal is to paint images that resonate with our past -- taking the viewer back to a place they remember, a time with a slower pace, a sweet memory of times gone by.
